As parents, we want our children to grow up with good hearts and good character — to be kind, honest and caring, not just at home, but everywhere they go, in every small moment of their lives.
We know we're not alone in wanting that. But we spent a long time searching for books that spoke to it — books our children would truly love, that would also quietly plant something good inside them. We couldn't find enough of them.
So we made our own.
Every Fig Leaf story is inspired by a real teaching from Al-Adab Al-Mufrad, Imam al-Bukhari's collection of the Prophet Muhammad's guidance on how we treat one another. We take one small moment — a mother's patience, a child's honesty, a forgotten kindness — and turn it into a story worth reading at bedtime, and worth talking about after the book is closed.
Every story is gently illustrated and written to be loved on its own, with the meaning woven naturally into the pages.
